Fisher River Volunteer Fire Department, which services the Fire Service Area, has been granted an expansion of services by Lincoln County Commissioners.

About two months ago, the Fisher River VFD petitioned Comissioners for expanded services, and last week, the expansion was granted.

Previously, the fire department’s status was to respond to structure fires only, while the fire company did respond to wildland fires.

“Their situation was a lot like that of Cabinet View,” Commissioner Tony Berget said. “They have been working with Libby Volunteer Ambulance for service.”

The new status will allow the FRFSA to respond to structure and wildland fires and to maintain an ambulance service, Berget said.
