Kats lose away to Lady Pirates

The Columbia Falls volleyball team lost to conference foe Polson in straight games on Sept. 11, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

The Wildkats were led by Hope Burlage, with 10 kills. Ciera Finberg had four blocks. The Kats were without Haley Belgarde, one of their key players. She is recovering from an ankle sprain.

The Kats also competed in the Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, tournament over the weekend. and did well. They beat Libby 25-14, 19-25, 16-14, and Clark Fork, 25-10. But they lost to Priest River, 25-17.

The Kats faced Stillwater on Tuesday at home after presstime and Frenchtown on Saturday at home. Freshmen games start at 1 p.m. against Frenchtown.

Search suspended for missing skiers

The search in Grand Teton National Park for two men with ties in the Flathead has been suspended because of inclement weather. The men are believed to be lost in an avalanche.
