Not guilty plea entered in child abuse case

SANDPOINT - A Coeur d'Alene woman accused of facilitating the sexual abuse of a preteen girl in Bonner County pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Heidi Julia Johnson's plea sets the stage for a trial in 1st District Court early next year.
She is charged with felony injury to a child and is free on $25,000 bail while the case is pending.
Johnson's husband, Ernest Ray Johnson III, allegedly molested a minor in Bonner County from 2008 to 2010, when the girl was between the ages of 8 and 11, according to court documents.
Heidi Johnson, 29, is accused of failing to protect the child from her husband, who is scheduled to stand trial in December for lewd and lascivious conduct, and sexual abuse of a minor. He is free on $75,000 bail while his case is pending.
