CAKE: Thanks from a moose and a mouse

Dear Mr. Editor of the Coeur d'Alene Press,

We wanted to write to let everyone know how AWESOME our birthday cake was again this year! All the kids and adults (about 150) who came to our 4th birthday party at the Coeur d'Alene library on Sunday afternoon LOVED it! We even had lots of requests for "one more piece."

We'd like to thank the wonderful bakery at The Coeur d'Alene Resort for being so generous and donating our beautiful cakes ... they have done this every year that we have lived in Coeur d'Alene! Here is a photo of it before we ate it all up - don't you agree it's spectacular? Thank you for sharing this letter with all our friends.

HOSPICE: Employees are appreciated

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Hospice of North Idaho and all the employees of Hospice House. My very dear friend and a longtime resident of Coeur d'Alene recently passed away, having spent her last days at Hospice House. I cannot say enough about what wonderful people they all were, from our first contact with them until the very end they were caring, compassionate and above all committed to making her last days comfortable and dignified. This support was given by the volunteers as well as the paid staff. Not only was she cared for but they also were concerned with the well-being of the family and friends - always asking if there was anything we needed or that they could do for us.

It is an absolute beautiful facility with every effort having been made to give it a comfortable, peaceful feeling. If any of you that are reading this are trying to decide what would be a worthwhile nonprofit to donate to I strongly urge you to consider Hospice of North Idaho. If you ever need them they will be there for you and your family with caring compassion.
