Hiring Our Heroes - Coeur d'Alene scheduled for Saturday

The Chamber Foundation and The American Legion will host "Hiring Our Heroes - Coeur d'Alene," on Saturday, a hiring fair for veterans and military spouses.

More than 30 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies range from America's biggest employers to small companies from across the state.

Since its launch in March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has held more than 280 hiring fairs nationwide, helping more than 10,400 veterans and military spouses find employment.

It will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Black Hawk Economic Opportunities Forum under way

The three-day Black Hawk Economic Opportunities Forum is under way at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, and continues through Wednesday.

The event is open to the public, and will include top business leaders from throughout the country and locally.

Nightly events include speaking symposiums and a silent auction with at least $150,000 in items to benefit the Children's Village and Boys and Girls Club.

Numerica Credit Union names new manager in Coeur d'Alene

Numerica Credit Union has recently named a new manager in Coeur d'Alene

Jeremy Wheeler was recently promoted to branch manager of Numerica's Coeur d'Alene Branch. He has worked for Numerica Credit Union for the last 10 years.

Wheeler began his career at Numerica as a teller working his way through all lines of member service to his most recent position of assistant branch manager at the Coeur d'Alene Branch.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University and his master's in business administration from Saint Martin's University.

Wheeler was born and raised in Spokane and spends nearly every weekend at the Farmers Market in Hayden and at Lake Coeur d'Alene.
