POST FALLS - Two suspects were arrested on Monday night burglary charges.

Shawn David Pruitt, 31, and Pauliann Goyne, 36, both admitted to police that they stole items from Post Falls and Hayden Wal-Mart stores after officers responded to the store on Mullan Avenue for a separate report of a shoplifter being detained by the company's loss prevention division.

While at Wal-Mart on the unrelated case, officers were alerted by loss prevention staff that a couple was currently in the store who had been responsible for numerous high-dollar product thefts from several of the surrounding Wal-Mart stores.

In past cases, the suspects would put high dollar items in a shopping cart and then push the cart out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

Officers waited outside the store and took Pruitt and Goyne into custody when they attempted to push unpaid merchandise out of the store.

Both claimed to be homeless and without a job.
