The Columbia Falls golf team will send two boys and three girls to the state tournament in Anaconda this Friday.

The top 15 golfers at the Northwestern Class A divisional golf tournament held Sept. 21 at Cabinet View Golf Course in Libby will go to the state tournament.

On the boys side, Gabe Love shot 100 to take 11th place, and Henry Chisholm shot 101 to take 15th.

For the girls, McKenna Emmerich was ninth with 111, Morgan Love was 11th with 113, and Britney Cotton shot 120 to take 15th.

As a team, the boys were fifth and the girls were fourth.

“McKenna and Morgan competed at state last year,” coach Gene Marcille said, “and this will be a great learning experience for the younger players. This has been a fun year with a bunch of great kids working to become better golfers.”
