Help the Flathead fight cancer next Friday at Harvest Foods

Here is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters and grandmas by coming to Bigfork Harvest Foods on Friday, Oct. 5 and making a donation to SAVE A SISTER.

If you were at the dragon boat races you must have seen their pink booth. On Oct. 5, it’s Turn the Flathead PINK Day and Bigfork Harvest Foods is going PINK.

Save A Sister funds mammograms for women who do not have insurance to pay for them. One hundred percent of the proceeds are spent locally on area women and men, yes, men get breast cancer too.

Besides giving a donation, there will be information there on how to join the program if you need help getting a mammogram. The trick to beating many cancers is to find it early and this program is a tool to help do that.

Until a cure for cancer is found, we all need to stay vigilant and get the routine screenings that detect cancers in our bodies.

I bet if you look around you have seen or known someone fighting this terrible disease.

Thank you to Bigfork Harvest Foods and Marcus and Kelly for their support of Save A Sister and Turning the Flathead Pink.

If on Friday, Oct. 5, turning the Flathead Pink at Bigfork Harvest Foods saves the life of one person, our community will have done a very good thing!

Please join us on Friday, Oct. 5. Hope to see you there.
