Native Eyewear came to Whitefish for its Locals Only Project and now its giving back to the community with a $5,000 grant.
This past spring and summer Native Eyewear, which makes outdoor sunglasses and goggles, used the area as a backdrop for its catalog featuring photos and stories from here.
Native Eyewear announced last week it would be giving $5,000 to a local nonprofit.
“Native believes that part of the Locals Only Project is being a part of the community and having a positive impact via hiring local talent, creating a solid community of passionate people and giving back to the community that helped make the project happen — and this is part of that plan,” said Todd Walton, spokesperson for Native Eyewear.
Organizations can be nominated or apply for the grant and must include 500 words or less on why the organization is deserving and how the money would specifically be used. Submissions can be done through www.facebook.com/NativeEyewear or by email at [email protected]. The deadline is Friday, Oct. 5.
Native will narrow the selection down to five groups and then a Facebook vote will determine who wins the grant.
