Volleyball roundup: Wolfpack bounces back with win over Big Sky

MISSOULA — The Glacier volleyball girls got off the mat from a tough defeat over the weekend to pummel Missoula Big Sky in three sets, 25-15, 25-22, 25-11.
Tiffany Marks had a team-high eight kills and five blocks to lead the Wolfpack, while Hannah Liss had 10 digs, seven aces and 15 assists. Kailea Vaudt also had 10 digs.
The fourth-ranked Wolfpack move to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in Western AA with the victory. Glacier plays Coeur d’Alene on Saturday.

EUREKA — Jordan Danz led Stillwater Christian with 10 kills, two blocks and 12 digs in the Cougars’ three-set victory over Eureka, 25-13, 25-17, 25-20.
Cassidy Morgan had a team-high seven kills for Eureka, which allowed seven aces from Stillwater.

POLSON — Polson cruised through a match with perennial Class B contenders Missoula Loyola Sacred Heart, beating the Breakers in three sets, 25-14, 25-19, 26-24.
Shay Duford had 32 assists and two aces, and the Pirates played stellar defense, picking up 74 digs, led by McKenzie Banner’s 17.
“The defense was incredible, they had a hard time putting anything through my defense,” Polson coach Janine Toth said. “Everything they put at us. It was fun to watch.”
Loyola’s Cierra Tiede played a great match, leading her team in kills, aces, blocks and digs.

LIBBY — The Flathead JV had a tremendous serving match and took advantage of some misplaced serves from Libby to win in four sets, 25-17, 13-25, 25-18, 25-17.
“Our serving just killed us tonight,” Libby coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said. “We had 18 missed serves. They’re a good team. They were scrappy.”
