MOSES LAKE - A car chase through a Moses Lake neighborhood Wednesday ended with the arrest of a Moses Lake man suspected of a variety of drug related charges.

Grant County drug task force detectives, Grant County sheriff's deputies and Moses Lake police officers were preparing for a search at 4009 Dusty Street in Moses Lake about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release issued Thursday.

When police arrived, they saw the suspect, Edward McIntosh, 53, of Moses Lake, in a white Honda Accord drive away from the Dusty Street residence. A deputy attempted to pull McIntosh over but he allegedly refused to stop and a chase ensued, according to the sheriff's office.

McIntosh eventually stopped the vehicle a short time later and was arrested at the corner of Peninsula Drive and Marigold Street. The vehicle was seized for evidence, according to sheriff's deputies.

A neighbor outside at the time said police followed McIntosh through the neighborhood before surrounding him.

Officers then search the Dusty Street home, finding more than 60 pieces of suspected evidence, deputies stated. Officers also searched the suspect's vehicle where more evidence was found, including a stolen .45 caliber pistol.

McIntosh was booked into the Grant County Jail for suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property, first-degree trafficking stolen property, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug with intent to deliver in a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony eluding a police officer.

The arrest was the result of a seven-month undercover investigation into methamphetamine sales.

"As you can see from the long list of charges, McIntosh is suspected of committing a huge amount of crimes and for INET (Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team) to take him off the street and put him in jail was an important task," Sheriff Tom Jones stated.

Peninsula Elementary School in Moses Lake was locked down for about five minutes as police chased the suspect.
