Canadian Spring Series

About 180 Canadian and U.S. athletes convened at Panorama, British Columbia, in Canada for the six-race Spring Series this week.

The field included National level athletes, Provincial teams and FIS athletes from at least eight countries. Two local athletes competed.

Scott Snow had a good start in Slalom, taking bronze on Saturday. He was in second after the opening run Sunday, but booted out and had to hike, finishing 26th on the day. Lani Wahl moved up in all of her races, but not enough to score. The Super G results were not available at press time. These are the final races for Snow this season. He’ll be racing for the University of New Mexico next year.

Tropical Daze. Yes, Schweitzer extended its season through April 14, but the annual spring celebration will go as scheduled this weekend.

Numerous events are planned, to include the Rubber Ducky Derby, a Treasure Hunt, Pond Skimming, and live music. The popular Dummy Downhill will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
