Boy suffers head injury in motorcycle crash

QUINCY - A 16 year old Quincy boy was hospitalized in critical condition on Monday, April 1. after crashing his motorcycle near George. ?

Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies, Grant County Fire District No. 3 EMTs and Protection One Ambulance were called to 1005 Adams Road South at around 1 p.m. They learned the 16-year-old was driving a dirt bike on private property and crashed into a horse pen fence. ?

According to Sheriff Tom Jones, the victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was knocked unconscious and suffered a serious head injury. He was flown by MedStar helicopter to Kadlec Medical Center in Tri Cities, where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday morning. ?

“This is an awful reminder of the importance of wearing a helmet when driving or riding on motorcycles or other off-road vehicles,” Jones said.
