Tennis split for Polson, Corvallis

POLSON — In a battle between two of the top tennis programs in Class A, Polson and Corvallis split a dual Saturday by the closest of margins.
The Polson boys dominated the top three singles matches, with Brady Hislop, Dylan McCrumb and Tyler Dupuis losing three games combined, including a clean sweep from Dupuis.
Tommy Mercer and Sam Kinzle posted a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles to give Polson a 4-3 victory.
The Polson girls played Corvallis tough, but fell a little short in losing 4-3.
Shannon Oakley picked up the only singles win for the Pirates at No. 2. It was doubles play where Polson picked up its points, with a commanding victory from the team of Karly Rochin and Mollybeth Hendrix and a comeback win from Libby Clay and Tegan Bauer.
