CORVALLIS — Whitefish and Polson both had two individuals with first-place finishes Saturday at the Gene Hughes Invitational track meet.

For Whitefish, Sean Foley won the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 6 inches. Marlow Schulz won the 100 with a time of 13.19 seconds.

Polson’s Riley Sampson  had the winning distance in the shot put — 51-8 1/2 — and Claudia Hewston had the best time in the 800 — 2:29.0.

This was the season-opening meet for most schools.
