EPHRATA - Next year marks the 100th anniversary of Ephrata High School's first graduating class and an alumni committee is holding a "launch party" April 12.
All former students along with past and present members of administration, teachers and support staff are invited to attend.
The party begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, and will include a program, displays and refreshments.
In May 1914, three young women were the first graduates of the high school and alumni will be celebrating the 100th graduating class June 7-9, 2014 with a grand reunion at the high school campus. Large ceremonial gatherings will take place as well as individual class reunions, according to Beverly Mayer, chairperson of the reunion committee.
The EHS-100 Reunion committee is currently in the beginning stages of planning and welcomes suggestions from alumni for the activities during reunion weekend.
For more information, contact Mayer at 754-3014 or email ehs100reunion@gmail.com. The reunion website is www.ehs-100.com and provides information regarding the reunion as well as the history of Ephrata High School.
The EHS-100 Reunion committee meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Ephrata City Hall located at 121 Alder St. SW and all graduates are encouraged to attend.
