Good heavens! Here comes another one. Just when I thought Jimmy Pappas had cornered the market on venomous, erroneous vitriol along comes Don Gressler with his hilarious My Turn column. Let’s take his points one by one until we run out of space.

He says to Republicans “start your name calling.” I’ve said it two or three times already but I’ll say it again. I have never seen name calling by Republicans to match the trash put out by Democrats.

“I don’t need a 30-round clip to kill a deer.” Gee, I hope not. I dislike having to expose your ignorance of the meaning of the Second Amendment but it’s not about hunting.

“Nobody took my guns away.” Patience Mr. Gressler. If you can’t see or hear them coming I suggest visits to your eye and ear doctors.

Regarding background checks: “If you have nothing to hide then what are you worried about?” Can you give one example of anyone fearing background checks? No one I know does. It’s registration we oppose as it’s step one to confiscation. Check the situation in England or Australia as two of many examples. You really need to keep up on current events Mr. Gressler.

Then a bow to the liberal deity. “If it weren’t for the unions there would be no middle class.” There was a middle class long before anyone even imagined unions. Wise up.

“Bush” (the liberal boogey man again) “who told all those lies about Iraq having all those WMD’s.” Most of the civilized world believed that Iraq had WMD’s and no one lied. Chill out. To this day no one really knows.

And of course the current emotion packed phrase: “The party of NO.”

How about “the party that keeps pushing things that require a NO response?”

“Democrats are for the people …” I’ll tell you what people they’re for: a nation of people with no self-esteem, no ambition, no drive.

Just a bunch of sheep holding out their tin cups for the next government hand-out. If you want zombies the democrats are for you.
