Operations Supervisor Deborah Gidley on Friday was busy arranging things in her office at the new Glacier Bank.
“We’re going to try to get it done (Saturday) and open Monday,” Gidley said. “(Tomorrow) will mark one of the few Saturdays we will be closed.”
Gidley and company were successful in that endeavor as Glacier Bank opened the new facility Monday, right on cue.
“We’ll be arriving at 8:30 and the drive-thru will open at 9 a.m.,” Gidley said.
Bank officials are not waiting long to move past the old facility, which will be razed this week to begin work on the parking lot, George Mercer, a credit analyst at Glacier, said.
The new facility is spacious and plush with wood decor. It will offer an on-site ATM in addition to those at Saverite and Ace hardware.
Also, there will be three drive-thru lanes in addition to the ATM.
“This is so exciting,” Gidley said. “We have a conference room for the first time. It has local logger art.”
Gidley said the bank will include a new cash dispenser, eliminating the need for tellers to count cash requests.
“There is much more storage area, too,” Gidley said. “We’ll be able to better serve our customers.”
Gidley said the bank is planning a grand opening at a later date.
Also, in the coming weeks, the bank will sport a new outdoor sign.
Meredith Contracting of Kalispell is the general contractor.
