Woman admits stealing from her uncle's house
The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 years, 8 months AGO
A woman who joined her boyfriend to steal from her uncle’s house in Kalispell pleaded guilty April 4 to felony burglary.
Mandi Anderson, 27, and Derrick Jackson, 27, removed screens from windows at the Buffalo Hill Drive home on April 10, 2012, stealing several items.
Jackson was apprehended while hiding behind some trees in the neighborhood. Anderson was arrested a week later.
During her change-of-plea hearing in Flathead District Court, Anderson admitted she struggles with opiate and methamphetamine use. She said the reason she has committed burglaries is to feed her drug habit.
Anderson is set for sentencing on May 9, as well as disposition in a prior burglary case. She originally was sentenced Oct. 9, 2012, to five years of probation after pleading guilty to stealing several items from the home of her ex-boyfriend in 2011.
Jackson was sentenced Dec. 6, 2012, to 10 years of probation and more than $24,500 in restitution — which Anderson likely will have to help pay.
