Moses Lake man hurt in car-truck crash

GEORGE - A Moses Lake man was hurt 10 miles west of George on the freeway on March 28 when the car he was driving collided with a truck driven by a Soap Lake man.

The accident occurred at around 9:06 a.m. in a construction zone at milepost 138 on Interstate 90 near vantage. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The injured driver was Lawrence H. Poff II, 67, of Moses Lake. He was driving a 2005 Mustang convertible and was wearing his seatbelt.

Poff required transport to Quincy Valley Hospital. His vehicle was impounded.

The driver of the truck was Richard L. Grubb, 63, of Soap Lake. He was driving a 1991 International cab chassis truck, and he was wearing a seatbelt. No tow was required.

According to the Washington State patrol, the truck entered Interstate 90 eastbound at milepost 138 and struck the car.
