The Veterans of Foreign Wars facility in Plains will play host to the annual Plains Fire Department Fireman’ Ball on Saturday April 20. The event serves as a fundraiser for the department.
The fifth annual ball will feature live music from Dark Horse, a live auction, door prizes, and a Mexican-themed dinner including beans, rice and enchiladas.
Fire Chief Joe Shepperd is expecting about 200 to 250 people to attend.
“It’s my first year as chief and my first year putting this on so I hope everything goes well. Come have fun, good food and support the community,” said Shepperd.
Items up for auction include a stay at Quinn’s Resort, a lawnmower, a rocking chair and free rounds of golf at the Plains Golf Course.
The Fireman’s ball has raised $4,000 to $5,000 in previous years for the fire department.
