ROYAL CITY - A string of errors that led to a seven-run rally for Burbank dashed Royal High's dream of victory in softball on Saturday.

The Burbank rally erased a 7-0 Royal lead from the first inning to the sixth. Burbank got its lone earned run in the bottom of the seventh to win.

"The girls came out strong at bat, scoring early in the game," coach Robyn Valdez said. "There wasn't a weak spot in our lineup. Unfortunately, they were not able to put another run on the board after the 2nd inning."

The second game was just as tight, with Royal losing 4-3. The defense was much better but the Knights were just not able to score the runs needed to pull out a win.

"There is still much to work on, but I'm hopeful that we will make the adjustments we need to in the coming weeks," Valdez said.
