Libby and Troy’s tennis teams continue to improve, picking up three wins of the four matches played.

Troy crushed Ronan on Tuesday, as the girls swept the Maidens 6-0.

Katie and Kellie Lundin beat Ronan’s Sam Ashley and Cassie Hawkins 6-0, 6-0 as the No. 1 doubles.

Alissa Pepiot, Troy’s No. 4 singles, is the only Lady Trojan who lost a set. She still won handily, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.

Troy’s boys also rolled the Chiefs, winning 5-1. The sole loss for  the Trojans was the No. 2 doubles team of Craig Helmrick and CJ Beard.

Libby’s tennis teams split  matches with Columbia Falls on a chilly Tuesday, with the boys winning decisively and the girls falling to the Wildkats.

The boys were led by No. 1 singles Jason Schnackenberg smashing C-Falls’ Caleb Baumann 6-1, 6-1. The Loggers beat the Wildcats, 4-3.

The girls struggled against an athletic Columbia Falls squad as well as against the weather and rubber surface the Wildkats use on their home courts.

The Lady Loggers lost 6-1, the sole win coming as Kaylene Hudson and Kaya Hardgrove stole a win from C-Falls’ Gabby Keller and Micinze Christopherson in the No. 1 doubles 7-6, 5-7, 6-3.

Libby’s track team was also on the road, heading to Columbia Falls for the quad meet against C-Falls on Tuesday, Whitefish and Eureka.

It didn’t go well for Libby, as both boys and girls teams finished last.

The Loggers didn’t win an event, but Cody Barrick had a standout day, finishing second in the 1,600-meter and fifth in the 800-meter. He was just six-tenths of a second behind the leader in the mile.

The girls did better, with Krysten Mossburg winning the long jump. Elly Webster, Shae Munro and Cassidy Ennenga also performed well in the jumps.

Boys team scores: Whitefish 240.5, C-Falls 225.5, Eureka 118, Libby 37.

Girls team scores: C-Falls 297.5, Whitefish 116, Eureka 104, Libby 70.5
