Chuck Lewis, a U.S. Marine sergeant from 1970 until 1974, is walking from Everett, Wash., to The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. Lewis, who spent Monday evening in Libby, began his walk on Easter Sunday, and he expects to wrap up the trek in late September. En route to Libby on Monday, Lewis talked to Alizabeth VanWorner who lives just west of Libby. She waited for Lewis to approach on Highway 2, recalling her grandfather’s service in the Marines.

Rewerts
Most Libby High School students may not prefer a view of Principal Rik Rewerts’ office. However, the inner sanctum is loaded with family mementos of Rewerts’ life and time spent with family members. The black-and-white photograph is an image of a 10-year-old Rewerts who hunted pheasant with his father and uncles. Other images are of skiing and fishing trips, Cabinet View Golf Course and a rainbow trout putter.
