The Superior-Alberton Mountain Cats continued their run towards the state tournament with three duals against Loyola Sacred Heart, Valley Christian and St. Ignatius this week.

On Tuesday the girls headed into Missoula to take on Loyola and Valley Christian in a double-header and came out looking strong from top to bottom.

In singles play against Loyola, Alberton senior Emma Wooldridge cruised to a straight-set victory over her opponent at the number one spot (6-2,6-1). Keeping up the pace in singles, Shawnda Rohrbach of Alberton also handily defeated her opponent in straight sets (6-2,6-3).

On the doubles side, Superior seniors Myranda Kuhl and Hillary Stevens found themselves in a tough first set during the number one singles match, but after winning 6-4 the girls found their stride and easily won the second set 6-1.

The Mountain Cats beat Loyola 6-0 in the dual and then headed across town to face off against Valley Christian.

Wooldridge continued to hit hard and easily defeated Kaileigh Moser without dropping a game. Rohrbach also kept up her pace and defeated Adrienne Newton in straight sets (6-0,6-1).

In doubles play, Kuhl and Stevens steamrolled over their opponents, capping off a perfect trip to Missoula for the Mountain Cats – who won both duals without dropping a single match.

On Friday, Superior Alberton headed to St. Ignatius and continued to play dominating tennis in the nonconference dual.

Wooldridge defeated Briar Ahlborn 8-2 and Rohrbach followed suit against Kayla Billette, also winning 8-2.

In doubles play, Stevens and Kuhl continued to dominate with an 8-0 victory.

The Mountain Cats have two duals this week, one at home on Tuesday against Ronan followed by a road trip to Eureka later in the week.
