Whitefish teams dominated the Libby Track and Field Invitational held at Logger Stadium on Saturday, while the hosting Logger squads each placed third.

Seven teams attended, including Fernie, a British Columbia school. Three A schools, two B schools and a C school competed..

“We were very fortunate with the weather,” said Loggers Head Coach Jim May.

Libby distance runner Dan Leggins had an excellent day, winning the 800-meter run and finishing under five minutes for third in the 1600-meter run.

“Whitefish has a kid named Jace Kalbfleisch,” Leggins said. “He beat me by three seconds, but without chasing him I don’t think I could have gotten under five.”

Nathan Olds won the high jump and triple jump for Troy.
