Renell Vandervort moved to Coeur d'Alene three years ago and says it was the best move she has ever made.

"What a wonderful place to live," Vandervort said. "Being a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty has just made it that much better. And listing my first house within a few weeks of working for CBSR and then selling it one week later has just been icing on the cake! I'm movin' and shaken'!"

NIC program awarded accreditation

North Idaho College announced its Medical Assistant Certificate program has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

The Medical Assistant program prepares students to work as entry-level healthcare providers in settings such as physicians' offices, health care clinics, and hospitals. The role of the medical assistant is to assist the physician and other professionals in managing the care of clients.

Christy Doyle, NIC Dean of Health Professions and Nursing, said "All NIC health profession programs are moving toward accreditation if they are not already accredited. Fundamentally, accreditation is about meeting high standards and accountability. Our programs consistently reflect those high standards and accreditation validates our commitment to the health care communities we serve."

NIC students who have completed the Medical Assistant program are now eligible to take the national certification exam. A three-credit review course is being offered this summer for graduates who wish a refresher before taking the national exam. Anyone interested in taking the review course is asked to contact NIC Medical Assistant Program Director Cindy Pavel at clpavel@nic.edu or (208) 665-5084.
