Seedlings to be given away today
COEUR d'ALENE - The Idaho Department of Lands will give away free conifer seedlings at the parking lot at Cherry Hill off 15th Street in Coeur d'Alene today from 9:30 a.m. to noon to commemorate Arbor Day.
The seedlings will include Ponderosa pine and Western white pine.
Although there is not a limit on the number of seedlings per household, only take what you can plant.

The Idaho Forest Products Commission today is giving away free one-year-old Colorado blue spruce seedlings at Home Depot in Coeur d'Alene, local FedEx stores, Paul Bunyan restaurants in Coeur d'Alene, Hayden and Post Falls, Numerica Credit Union in Hayden and Coeur d'Alene and Hayden, Spirit Lake, Rathdrum, Post Falls, Pinehurst, Harrison and Athol libraries.

'Choose Love Over Fear Day' set
The city of Coeur d'Alene has proclaimed May 1 as "Choose Love Over Fear Day."
The public is invited to attend a proclamation ceremony that day at 12:30 at The Human Rights Education Institute 414 W. Mullan Ave., and observe the day which honors the public cause to come together in the spirit of universal love to eradicate fear. This event is free.
Speakers will include Jackie Gedeik and Kathleen Lamanna who both petitioned for the proclamation and organized this event, Thomas Carter, Executive Director of the Institute, Tony Stewart from The Kootenai County Task Force On Human Relations and Hazel Bauman, Superintendent of schools.

Church to host video seminar
DivorceCare, a series of weekly free video seminars on divorce and recovery, is being offered at Dalton Gardens Church of Christ, 6439 N. 4th St., on the corner of Hanley and 4th.
The video seminar series runs Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. through July 17 and features Christian experts on the subject.
The video presentations are combined with a support group discussion of the materials presented, delving into the deep hurt and heartbreaking trauma caused by divorce and seeking solutions for healing and recovery.
Anyone who may benefit is welcome to stop by.
