College dedicates new Broussard Center today

The new Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science will be dedicated today at 4 p.m. at Flathead Valley Community College.
The community is invited to attend the dedication ceremony, which will be followed by building tours and light refreshments.
The 32,000-square-foot, one-story building houses FVCC’s nursing and health-related programs as well as the college’s first student health clinic.
It is the ninth building on the college’s 216-acre campus, designed to be similar to existing buildings by CTA Architects and constructed by Swank Enterprises.
The Broussard Center is the first privately funded building on the Kalispell campus thanks to a gift from the Broussard Family and contributions from the community.
Becky Broussard, a nurse and philanthropist for whom the building is named, is honored on opaque glass windows at the entrance to the nursing school on the west wall of the lobby.
The east wall recognizes the many community members and organizations whose gifts helped complete the project. An original painting, “Fertile Ground,” inspired by the Bibler Home and Gardens in Kalispell and painted by Nancy Cawdrey, hangs on the south wall.
