N.M. boy found safe; Amber alert canceled

ROSWELL, N.M. — An Amber Alert was canceled Monday after a missing 6-year-old Roswell boy was found safe in Lubbock, Texas.

The boy had been been abducted at gunpoint by his mother early Monday in Roswell.

Although the initial alert said the mother may have intended to take him to Montana, instead he was found in Texas.  

The alert issued by New Mexico State Police and Roswell police was for Elijah Reczek.
