The owner of a Bigfork bar has denied allegations that he was selling cocaine out of the establishment — for which he faces four felony drug distribution charges.

Travis Martin, 32, of Bonner, is alleged to have sold 9 grams of cocaine in three transactions at the Rendezvous Lounge on Aug. 30 and 31, 2012, and another ounce of cocaine on Sept. 13, 2012, for a total of $1,860, according to a court document.

On Sept. 21, 2012, Martin allegedly introduced the buyers to 34-year-old Phillip Sowder of Kalispell, whom he said was his source for the drug. The document claims Sowder then sold the buyers a further ounce of cocaine for $1,200 at the Rendezvous Lounge.

A search of Sowder’s home by Northwest Drug Task Force agents turned up more than 64 grams of cocaine, 65 marijuana plants in a grow operation and “a large sum of U.S. currency.”

Martin pleaded not guilty on July 18 to four felony charges of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. He is currently released after posting a $40,000 bond.

Sowder pleaded not guilty July 25 to felony charges of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, and criminal manufacture of dangerous drugs.

Sowder’s bond originally was $40,000, but he was released on his own recognizance at his initial appearance. The next hearing in each man’s case is set for Oct. 30.
