RATHDRUM - Two Rathdrum teens were cited for unlawful entry after allegedly entering Lakeland Junior High late Wednesday night and going on a skateboarding expedition.

Avery Booth and Spencer Clizer, both 19, were cited and released.

According to Rathdrum Police, officers received a call of a silent burglar alarm at the school at 11:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they located an unsecured door entering the gym and began searching the school.

Both males admitted to entering the open door and skateboarding in the cafeteria and gym areas of the school.

Rathdrum police Chief Kevin Fuhr said it appears the door was locked, but not shut all the way. There was no forced entry.

There was no extensive damage inside the school, but the floors were recently waxed so they may have gotten scuffed, Fuhr said.

Fuhr said that, since there was no damage or forced entry, the officer decided to write a citation rather than arrest the suspects.
