Mike Johnson, 57, was called home to watch the Raiders on the big screen in the sky on July 28, 2013, after a short battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 19, 1956, in Moses Lake, Wash., to Robert and Gertrude Johnson.

He grew up on the shores of Huntington Beach, and loved the ocean. He spent more than 25 years in the Northwest, raising his kids and made many friends along the way. He was handsome, and a good, solid man that you knew you could count on no matter what.

He spent time in the Navy, and his lifelong work was with cars, being everything from a mechanic, a trainer, a service manager and a consultant. He loved his motorcycle, and had many passions and loves in his life. He wanted nothing more than to live his life close to the ones he loved, and he went to Heaven to be with his son, Little Mike, while his daughter, Trudi held his hand.

He is survived by the people who loved him most in life: his wife, best friend and soul mate forever, Suz; his daughter, Trudi and husband Jeremiah; his grandsons, Charlie, Logan and Tyson; his mom, Trudy and husband Mel; his brother, Tim and wife Lynn; his sister, Susie; his stepson, Adam; his nieces and nephews; as well extended family and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his other loves, all of his pets, Ripley, Riley and Ciara; and all the kitties and froggers too. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael P. Johnson; and his dad, Robert Johnson; and his Great Dane, Sammy. No freedom will be greater than a life without pain holding the hands of the one’s you missed for so long.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Black Bay Park, 1299 E. Third Ave., Post Falls. If you have any questions please call Trudi at(208) 691-4617. In lieu of flowers, we ask for you to donate to the local humane society in Mike’s name. Have a Great Dane.
