The 30th Anniversary of the Coeur d'Alene Triathlon, known as the Scenic Challenge: This year, new Sprint Distance Triathlon has been added and takes off right after the Olympic race begins. The inaugural Scenic Sprint consists of a 500-yard swim, a 13-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run. Coeur d'Alene City Park and beach 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration $85 for Olympic distance, $80 for sprint. Info: www.cdatriathlon.com

Fifth annual Kootenai Health Triathlon for Kids at the Kootenai Health McGrane Center for Rehabilitation: This triathlon is designed to promote health and fitness to the children of the community. Bike MS raises funds to support families living with MS: Annual cycling event comes to Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Providing a challenging cycling experience for riders and offering hope and support to hundreds of families affected by multiple sclerosis.
