OTHELLO - Kelly Carlson, Director of Corporate Compliance for the Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA), has received the Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) designation from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE).
"The work that Kelly performed to receive this designation validates that she has the knowledge and skills to excel in her chosen field of healthcare practice management, and allows her to receive professional recognition as an expert in the management of healthcare delivery," said Greg Brandenburg, Chief Executive Officer of CBHA.
The ACMPE is the standard-setting and certification division of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Board certification requires that you pass an objective examination containing 175 multiple choice questions that measures your understanding of healthcare practice management principles and practices.
You must also pass a three-question written essay exam that assesses in-depth knowledge of healthcare practice management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Once you have earned the Certified Member designation, you must maintain this status by earning 50 continuing education credits every three years to demonstrate ongoing learning and professional development. "This certification also empowers Kelly to lead others toward success within the healthcare practice management team and to mentor others seeking healthcare management certification," Brandenburg said.
