Lorraine (Cookie) A. Carrillo, 78 years old, passed away Aug. 9, 2013, in Parker, Ariz. On April 1, 1949, she married Joe Carrillo, in Reno, Nev. They were married for 62 years before his passing in November 2011. She was a resident of Quartzsite, Ariz., for 15 years and a resident of Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene for more than 30 years.

She cooked for the school district in Coeur d’Alene and then became a licensed dietitian for Lake City Hosptial and Kootenai Memorial Hospital. She then retired to be a homemaker. She loved family, cooking and traveling. There was never a person who came to her home that she did not say to “Are you hungry, would you like something to eat.” If you left her house hungry it was your own fault. She loved to have people over to eat.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Mark Tiddens of San Diego, Calif., Gail and Tandy Osterson of Coeur d’Alene, Debbie and Walt Alverdes of Quartzsite, and Linda and Merle Breasaw of Quartzsite.

She had six grandchildren that adored her, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She has two surviving brothers: Larry (Sue) Colombini of Newman Lake, Wash., and Lou (Rosie) Colombini of Plains, Mont.; plus many nieces and nephews.
