Congratulations! You've made the choice to start physical therapy. You probably came to this decision from your loss in mobility, or the pain that is restricting your everyday life. Why is physical therapy a great choice? Physical therapists are highly educated, licensed health care professionals who can help you improve and restore mobility, reduce pain, and possibly avoid the need for surgery or use of prescription medications in the future.
Now that you've made the informed decision to begin physical therapy, how can you prepare for your treatment in order to ensure optimal success?
• Start by making a list of any questions you might have about your condition and related concerns.
• Write down any symptoms related to your current condition. Include times that your pain is worsened or relieved.
• Bring documentation about your medical history. Include prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. (Also include family history)
• Be prepared to keep good notes as your therapy session will include educational information.
• If available, bring referral and/or lab reports from your health care professional that has been treating you for your condition.
• Lastly, wear comfortable clothing so that you can easily engage in your therapy activities.
At Pinnacle Physical Therapy, we commit to providing individualized care that will enhance the physical and psychological well-being of our patients through comprehensive and high quality physical therapy. After you have prepared for your treatment with us, you are ready to have your first appointment. What can you expect from us?

An open line of communication will be established with you, your therapist, and your health care professional. You will be taught how to implement home exercises so that you may continue to improve your condition after therapy.
