Mattawa Comm "Unity" Days this weekend

MATTAWA - The annual Mattawa Comm "Unity" Days will be held this weekend, kicking off with activities for children on Friday evening.

The Kiddie Parade will step off at 5 p.m. from Rio's Auto Parts. Participants are asked to be there at 4:30 to form the parade.

The rest of the evening celebration will take place in Hund Memorial Park, starting at 5 p.m. Solid State from Othello will provide music from 5-8 p.m. There will be performances by community dance groups. There will be a food vendor.

For entry in Saturday's grand parade, you may contact Dana Fox at 830-8019.

For vendor or informational booths and t-shirt sales, you may call Maggie Celaya at 830-7117.

T-shirts will be on sale for $12. They may be purchased during breakfast or by contacting Celaya if you want one sooner.

The salsa making contest coordinator will be Lupe Chiprez. She may be contacted at 830-2305. Salsas for the contest must be turned in by 2 p.m.

7:30 Free Breakfast

8:00 Fun Run

8:00 5k

9:00 1 mile

11:00 Parade

11:30 Fun in the park food vendors, informational booths and stage entertainment

11:30 Dancing horses with live band Banda

2:00 Belly Busting Burrito Competition

2:00 Live band Groove Principal

3:00 Salsa judging

3:30 Live music: Chuck Hubbard and Neftali Rosales

Raffles throughout the day.
