Motorcycle ride on Medal of Honor Highway Saturday

The Marine Corps League's Pappy Boyington Detachment will host its second motorcycle ride on the North Idaho Medal of Honor Highway (Highway 3) on Saturday. All riders are welcome.

The ride will begin at the Pappy Boyington Field Museum, 1600 W. Wyoming Ave., Hayden. Registration, which costs $25 and includes a T-shirt, patch and pin, starts at 9 a.m. The ride starts at 10 a.m.

Riders will travel along the east shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The 190-mile ride, estimated to take six hours, ends at Curley's in Hauser.

Family activities at Post Falls Police Saturday

The Post Falls Police Department will host its annual Cops-n-Kids and Rodders-n-More Open House on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station, 1717 E. Polston Ave.

There will be K-9 demonstrations, tours of the facility, fingerprinting, a car show, a tribute to first responders featuring a parade of emergency vehicles at noon and other activities. There is no admission.

There will be also be information about PFPD's programs.

The car show registration starts at 9 a.m. and is $10 and a food item donation. Vintage and classic cars, trucks, street rods, motorcycles, and emergency vehicles are invited to attend.

A car cruise will be held on Friday starting at 6 p.m. from the police station to the Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, Wash. There is no charge to participate, but pre-registration is required. A car show will take place at the casino with casino staff awarding their choice award.
