Lake County authorities are searching for a Huson man whose boat and two dogs were found on Flathead Lake.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Karen Sargent said 36-year-old Nathan Bird left the Paradise Cove Campground on Sunday morning in a 21-foot boat with the dogs.

The boat was found adrift about 1 1/2 hours later with only one dog aboard. The other dog was found wet and shivering on shore.

Authorities began the search in the afternoon but suspended it at nightfall. They began searching again at 7 a.m. Monday.

Rescuers also are searching Placid Lake in the Seeley Valley for a 69-year-old man whose boat was found unattended.

He was last seen at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
