MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Parks and Recreation recently announced they are offering a “character-building running program,” called Ready, Set, Run! The curriculum-based, nine-week program will cover issues like enhancing confidence and self-esteem, respecting authority, dealing with peer pressure and fueling bodies with proper nutrition. Lessons will be concluded at a 5k fun run in Soap Lake Nov. 2. The program is open to children ages 8 to 12.

Classes will take place at Park Orchard gym at Park Orchard Elementary School, from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays and 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 3 through Nov. 2. Jodi O’Shea is the instructor.

For more information, call 509-764-3805 or register at the Parks and Recreation Office, 411 S. Balsam. Early registration is encouraged because class space is limited.
