Bethany Knudsen, a fourth-grade teacher at Kila School, organizes her classroom on Tuesday. “There is the big picture, that I worked on over the summer, but there are also the smaller details. When the kids come back, they know if you haven’t got the details taken care of,” Knudsen said as she put individual name tags on personalized mail slots. Knudsen is looking forward to the start of school on Sept. 3. “The first days are all about atmosphere and setting expectations for the whole year,” said Knudsen.
