Coeur d'Alene Sting under-12 boys Valencia: The Sting Valencia competed in the Northwest Cup Aug. 16-18.
Valencia defeated Soccer Edge Academy B01 White 4-1. Ty Shaw, Drake Prohaska, Diego McClure and Braden Jackson each scored once, with assists by Drake Prohaska and Ty Shaw. Jacob Overoye had three saves.
On the morning of Aug. 17 Sting Valencia lost 1-0 to Three Rivers 3RSC Pele Black. Jacob Overoye had six saves. That night, the Sting beat CB United Navy 4-1. Goals were scored by Jackson Henkle scored two goals and Ty Shaw and Diego McClure scored once each, with assists by Drake Prohaska, Diego McClure and Carter Gordon. Jacob Overoye had six saves.
In the semifinals Aug. 18, the Sting Valencia lost 4-2 to Xifa 2020. Carter Gordon scored both Sting goals and Ty Shaw had an assist.
Sting U10 boys Barcelona: The Sting went 1-1-1 at the River City Challenge in Spokane on Aug 24-25.
The Sting tied FC Spokane Black 4-4. Colton Stinson scored two goals, Walker Jump and Joseph Sarkis one each.
The Sting lost 4-2 to the Breakers-Led. Cole Jaworski and Walker Jump each scored once for the Sting.
The Sting beat the Idaho Thunder 8-0. Sean Dremann and Walker Jump scored two goals each, and Joseph Sarkis, Cole Jaworski, Colton Stinson and Kohrt Weber each scored once.
Sting United U10 boys: The Sting placed second in the Flight 2 bracket at the River City Challenge at Plantes Ferry Park in Spokane.
The Sting beat the Spokane Puma FC Ice 7-1, beat the Sandpoint Strikers Wolf 8-2 and the Sandpoint Strikers Ramsey 5-2 to advance to the championship game, where they lost 11-2 to Columbia Basin United Othello.
Noah Janzen scored 11 goals in the tournament for the Sting. Alex Reyes scored three, Cooper Prohaska, Jack Shorntz, Slade Peressini and Tyler Allred two each.
