ST. MARIES - Senior quarterback Luke Feasline rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns, and passed for 209 yards and two scores as the St. Maries Lumberjacks beat the Kellogg Wildcats 48-7 in the nonleague football opener for both schools on Friday night.

"We had some big plays and Luke got it started with the big run in the first quarter," St. Maries coach Craig Tefft said. "The kids set the tone early and I was pleased with how we handled Kellogg's 3-4 defensive look. We hadn't practiced that, but I was pleased with how they adjusted and figured it out quickly."

Dillon Michael had four catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns for St. Maries, which travels to Medical Lake next Friday.

James Red scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter for Kellogg, which travels to Grangeville next Friday.

Morgan Willms had 24 carries for 140 yards, and eight catches for 143 yards for Kootenai, which travels to Lakeside next Friday.

"It was a good game," Kootenai coach Doug Napierala said. "We started out strong and everything, but then lost (Simeon) Desautel to a sprained ankle on our second possession in the first quarter and had to shuffle some guys around. We competed well, played well, but Wallace has a lot of weapons. I'm proud of how the kids played. They played hard."
