COEUR d'ALENE - A 16-year-old boy died Friday from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident earlier this week on Northwest Boulevard, police said.
Quinn J. McKasty, of Post Falls, was a passenger in one of the vehicles in the accident that occurred after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Northwest Boulevard's intersection with River Avenue.
A representative from the Idaho State Police said Friday the accident remains under investigation so the agency hasn't decided whether any of the drivers will be cited.
Capt. Curtis Kastens said McKasty died around 8:30 a.m. Friday.
According to ISP, Joseph M. Rupeka, 62, of East Freedom, Pa., was southbound on Northwest Boulevard when the 2001 Chrysler sedan he was driving rear-ended a 1996 Chevy Lumina driven by Coralynn C. McKasty, 19, Post Falls.
McKasty was stopped at a red light at River Avenue. The Lumina was pushed into the intersection and struck by a 2013 Subaru Forester driven by Carl George, 57, Coeur d'Alene.
George's car was turning northbound onto Northwest Boulevard from River.
Everyone in the accident was taken to Kootenai Health's medical center. The drivers were all treated and released.
