Painter, volunteer leads forum
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 11 years, 1 month AGO
Painter Joann Sleadd leads this month’s Crits & Croissants forum at the Hockaday Museum of Art.
The Crits & Croissants artist forum gives those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. Artists 15 and older may bring one or more pieces of recently created artwork for critique while enjoying coffee and croissants.
This month’s session takes place from 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 14.
Sleadd has been painting for years. She has studied art at the Hockaday Museum of Art and has attended many of the workshops offered there.
Sleadd serves as a volunteer docent at the museum and is knowledgeable about its current exhibitions and many of the artists featured in its permanent collection. She also has given freely of her time in helping with the Hockaday’s guild organization of volunteers.
Crits & Croissants is offered in the museum’s classroom every second Saturday of the month from September through May. The cost is $5 for members or $7 for nonmembers.
The Hockaday is located at 302 Second Ave. E. For more information, visit www.hockadaymuseum.org or call 755-5268.
