SNOW bus adds new route, eliminates Haskill stop

The free SNOW bus in Whitefish has added a new route and eliminated a stop for the upcoming winter season.

The new afternoon daily route will depart the Mountain Mall at 1:30 p.m. and arrive at the Whitefish Mountain Resort Base Lodge at 1:59 p.m.

There will no longer be a bus stop at Haskill Station along Wisconsin Avenue. The stop has been deemed too dangerous for riders exiting the bus and for other vehicles on Wisconsin Avenue.

“We realize that this change may cause some inconvenience for some riders,” said Rick Cunningham of the Big Mountain Commercial Association. “We hope that they will understand that this improvement in safety was a necessary change to the schedule.”

Other locations for a stop in this area are being researched for future seasons.

Those who used this stop as a park-and-ride should now use the Mountain Mall bus stop or the parking lot north of the library.

The SNOW bus provided over 80,000 free rides during the 2012-13 ski season.

The bus schedule can be viewed online at www.bigmtncommercial.org.
