Hockey: Back-to-back wins for Glacier Nationals

CODY, Wyo. — The Glacier Nationals swept a two-game series with the Yellowstone Quake over the weekend, winning 4-2 on Friday and 4-3 on Saturday at Victor J. Riley Arena.

John Tesarek tied Saturday’s game at 3-3 with 32 seconds remaining in the second period, then netted the game-winner at 9:32 in the third with assists from Jacob Hayes and Chris Cutshall.

Hayes and Tanner Dodd also scored for Glacier (12-13) which remains in fourth place in the American West Hockey League with 24 points.

Goaltender Pierre Gustafsson stopped 28 shots to earn the win.

The Nationals host the Great Falls Americans at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday at the Stumptown Ice Den in Whitefish.
