KENNEWICK, Wash. - Shayna Allert hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with a team-high 19 points to lead the Post Falls Trojans past the Kennewick Lions 52-49 in a nonleague game Tuesday night.

Post Falls led 28-19 at halftime, but held on after Kennewick rallied to take a lead early in the fourth quarter.

"They started to hit a few shots, but we held our composure really well and just ran our offense well at the end of the game," Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. "Defensively, we played a lot better in the fourth quarter and got some scores out of our defense. Everytime they got close, Shayna would hit a 3-pointer to hold them off."

Kim Reynolds scored nine points, Sam Runkle had seven rebounds and Lexi Smith five assists for Post Falls (3-3), which travels to Richland on Friday.

Jalyn Brashear-Norwood scored 20 points for Kamiakin.

COLBERT, Wash. - Sophomore wing Camryn Wendlant stepped up in the absence of two starters, grabbing eight rebounds, but the Timberwolves suffered their first loss of the season, falling to the Crusaders in nonleague play.

"We had some mental breakdowns defensively down the stretch," Lake City coach Bryan Kelly said. "We missed some key baskets down the stretch, we had some opportunities. But they (Northwest Christian) finished. Some young girls got some opportunities to play and they played well. Camryn Wendlant and (freshman post) Nina Carlson really sparked us, they really took advantage of that opportunity. I was proud of their effort. Down the stretch, the ball didn't bounce our way."

Clarissa Smith led the Timberwolves (4-1) with 16 points. Whitney Meier added 12 points. Natalie Wheelock had three assists.

"We got a shot, but it went off the backboard," Kootenai coach Mike LaFountaine said. "For being down 12 at halftime, I was pretty proud of the way we came out in the second half. We didn't shoot the ball well tonight, but the girls played hard."
