The Bulldog speech and debate team did well at the Libby Invitational last weekend.

Coach Gary Carmichael said a few students had their best performances so far this season.

“We were very pleased with sophomores Abbie Belcher and her performance in extemporaneous and Sam Benkelman in expository competing for the first time in that event,” he said.

Belcher placed third and Benkelman took fifth in their respective events.

“Senior captain Sloan Ellis gave solid performances in oratory and impromptu while the debaters continued to be very effective in their arguments,” he added.

Ellis placed second in original oratory and fourth in impromptu.

The team of Madison Grady and Jordan Reese placed seventh in policy debate and Bahlol Khan took seventh in Lincoln Douglas debate.
